A new day, a new IMPACT Wrestling!

Yes it is Friday which means it is time to review and rant about IMPACT Wrestling. Now due to WWE's lack of form in the past i became a fan of TNA's product. But ever since they failed to please me on all occasions as well. I've stuck by them through thick and thin and decided that sometime soon (other than the Jeff Hardy situation) they are going to let me down big time. Hopefully not before Destination X.

Start off with Eric B right now, not much to talk about there before we get ODB kicking the crap out of Velvet Sky. Not much done by Velvet except for a couple of hits to ODB before getting beat up. Lee South the TNA Photographer and TNA's security got beat up in the process of the beat down. Miss. Tessmacher (weird name) came out after Velvet was stripped to her bra and panties and ODB had left. Pretty pointless there really.

Tenay and Taz are talking before Sting's music hit and yet again Anderson comes out. If they were to make it more original one of the times i'd have Sting come out with Anderson slowly following behind him or something like that as now every time i hear Sting's music i'm expecting Anderson. Anderson quickly talks about how he is going to face one of Sting's most famous competitors. After last week and Disco Inferno i'm expecting it to be someone funny/silly.

Kendrick backstage interrupts Bischoff who is on a phonecall to someone named Scott. Nice to see Bischoff let Kendrick face Kazarian during the show in an X-Division style match.

Bischoff has a during the break segment and then is in the ring next thing we see of him. During the break he was just talking on the phone again and in the ring Bischoff calls out Beer Money. Bischoff is trying to take Beer Money's titles away from them because of the 30 day no compete clause and the fact The British Invasion are waiting to face someone but can't face Beer Money. Alex Shelley comes out and tells the Bischoff he will take the place of Roode because his partner Chris Sabin is injured as well right now. Gun Money will defend the titles against The British Invasion and i'm not taking it out on Shelley or Storm but i see this happening.

TNA make them lose the titles. Shelley gets into an argument with Roode. Roode turns heel. Roode faces Shelley. Storm defends him. Roode feuds with Storm. Defeats Storm in match and then goes on to bigger things. But this is TNA so i don't see anything past the losing of the titles.

Crimson is up against Matt Hardy right now and what a poor thing that is because it cost me the whole post of what i've got so far. I accidentally reloaded the page, but back to it. Nice to see Crimson is keeping up this undefeated streak thing going on, bit annoyed that they seem like they will be ending it soon or making him go over Samoa Joe at the pay per view to continue the streak. Crimson could have been built up like Goldberg and if TNA had a way of getting him there had Goldberg end the streak not Samoa Joe. Back to the match the appeal it gave was what it turned out to be, very boring but an ok finish with the Sky High. Samoa Joe coming out after the match was obvious as Crimson came out after Joe's match last week and nice to see Crimson get the spear.

The backstage segment with Eric Young and Ander-Sting was quite funny and having Eric say about running seminars about how to wrestle a great match as the one he and Gunner had (which was great in a comedy way). Anderson brings up Sting Vs Great Muta as a great match. Nice little plug of the slogan "wrestling matters" in the segment. The two guys will apparently be paying homage to Sting and The Great Muta in the match later on in the night.

Winter and Love have a backstage segment where Winter is basically just ranting about what happened last week with Mickie James. So we finally get to hear "Crazy" Angelina Love and she just said a few things before bringing up the fact she is going to do what she is going to do in honour of Winter.

Nice to see Bischoff playing out this thing with the letter from "The Network" and bringing up the fact that in WCW the network didn't want wrestling and saw completely different ideas, etc. He then says TNA right now is going into that phase where they will be took off the network and realistically have to be bought (which obviously isn't the case).

Christy Hemme is in my opinion the Lillian Garcia of TNA now. She sings and does ring announcing duties. But back to the match it is Knockouts action (i feel like Michael Cole at the minute mainstream womens wrestling bores me). What was bought up before the match kicked off was Angelina Love is the number one contender for the Knockouts championship... how did this happen. How did she become number one contender was it from the beat down last week? Back to the match. Pretty decent match and looks like Angelina Love has a new finisher.

Mr Ander-Sting is up against The Not So Great Muta (Eric Young) now. If they wanted him against someone Muta like then they should have got Kiyoshi back as he is a direct style of The Great Muta. Eric Young is on a roll that was a great match played out by him and Anderson aka Sting & The Not So Great Muta. Glad the green mist got used and came into play to be the decider. I know Young and Gunner have this feud that is ongoing right now but the fact he came out in the match annoyed me slightly. Gunner and Anderson begin to beat up Young and then Sting comes out to make the save yet again.

Another match now and i'm sad there isn't actually any promos yet. Brian Kendrick is facing Kazarian in an X-Division style match. To great a match and because of that it ended in a no contest (something TNA seemed to do a lot before). Was nice to see the guy who's character hates the X-Division continue the X-Division style match. Abyss came out during the rematch and because Kendrick kind of attacked first there wasn't a DQ when Kaz got attacked. The match ended in a no contest if anything and i love how Abyss keeps bringing up stuff from "The Art of War".

So we got an AJ Styles confrontation with Bully Ray. I just realized AJ doesn't have his neck brace on so is his injury healed now after a few weeks? Just a regular promo now from Bully Ray talking about how wrestlers now or days aren't as manly as they were back in the day they all play video games, go on laptops, etc. Last Man Standing match for Bully Ray and AJ Styles. When he said one man up and one man down i thought Elevation X, shame it wasn't that.

Main event time - Angle and Morgan Vs Steiner and Jarrett. Shame Steiner quickly went from face and being a friend with Angle to being a heel and facing Matt Morgan. Pretty basic main event from a company like TNA and yet again while the action is in the ring we get another split screen just so we know now that Hulk Hogan has arrived... WHY? because they are TNA. If anything they could have showed it during the advert after the match... expecting there is an advert. The announced match of Sting and Young vs Anderson and Gunner during this match as well was expected from TNA who could have announced it during the next week if anything. Steiner gets the victory (even though all we saw was a low blow).

Final action of the night is a Hogan & Bischoff promo. Slow promo there about how Bischoff has seen Foley do loads, Hogan reads the letter and Mick Foley is fired (poor attempt at Vince McMahon's your fired from Hogan). Lets see how this is going to play out.

Overall Rating - 3 1/2 out of 5.

TNA and No Spoilers!!!

We have all heard the recent news to come from TNA/IMPACT Wrestling and Universal Studios that mobile phones/cell phones have been banned during the tapings and in recent news a fan has been ejected from the tapings after sending results to a website in which the TNA security showed him that he sent. Along with this Orlando police came and took the fan off the Universal Studio's Florida property.

Now with this what the hell is the problem with banning moblie phones. Well for one, what if someone gets injured during the tapings and i'm not talking about the wrestlers because the wrestlers have the staff to help them to the back along with the medical help behind the scenes but what if a fan gets injured? Will TNA staff help them to the back where the matches are probably being planned? Will the emergency services be called by TNA staff? How about the younger fans that go into the tapings on their own and have to report to their parents/guardians that they are fine?

The only way TNA could deal with this problem overall is either moving out of the IMPACT Wrestling Zone which they said they wouldn't do yet because of the money it costs for production, etc and taking the superstars on the road. But then what about going live on Thursdays? It wouldn't hurt them to actually go live if Spike allowed them to. The thing being that going live on Thursdays will give fans a better viewing and no spoilers being sent out.

Along with going live this would help draw better talent into the company surly? Yes they have a lot of talent right now but with that comes the bad press they will be slightly getting right now due to the Jeff Hardy drug case continuing. The mocking of Randy Savage's death from one of Hulk Hogan's friends and Hulk then defending him. TNA can also sound better when they say watch IMPACT Wrestling live on Spike on Thursdays because it would be live.

Wrestling Game Review?

Quite an old game slightly but right now I will be reviewing Total Extreme Wrestling 2005. Why am I going to be reviewing this game? The real reason well I currently play the game and find it easy to navigate for a wrestling game. Now it is slightly a text based game but what is wrong with that it is still to do with wrestling, right?

What you get with TEW 05 to begin with is a booking game, you aren't a superstar and can't instantly make yourself the top champion in just a few weeks, but what you can do is use your favourite superstars and make them champions or even sign them to the company of your choice. This is after you have updated the game which is preloaded with the cornelleverse data.

The cornelleverse is practially random wrestling federations with random bookers, wrestlers and staff but they look like they are based on the real life companies such as the WWE, WCW, etc.

Back to the real life data, there is regular monthly updates which feature new superstars, remove newly deceased wrestlers, etc. But you can also have real life data which is scenario based such as what if Ric Flair bought WCW?, a yearly specific data such as from 1980's.

I really rate this game because you get the tough challenge of having to make money for companies and can make yourself a challenge by creating a "backyard" federation with no named wrestlers and have to make the company bigger during the slumps in the industy.

TEW 05 Rating - 5/5

Wrestling with History, Part 1:

Basically what i will be doing with this is discussing a vital issue that was raised on the Total Wrestling Show on Sunday. For more about them go to http://www.totalwrestlingshow.com/. But back on topic what was slightly discussed was the issue of do many generation superstars live up to the expectations we give them. This being there are guys like Dusty Rhodes who was a mega star back in his day and was always on the road, but has Dustin Runnels/Goldust and Cody Rhodes lived up to the name Rhodes in the wrestling industry, i'll look more in depth below.

1: The Rhodes Family
There they are in all their glory kind of. Kicking it off like i said Dusty Rhodes; now this guy is a legend he found fame all over the United States and even became NWA World Heavyweight Champion in the process. With championships came money and with money came the limo rides and private airplane journeys. So
have his son's, Dustin (Goldust) and Cody lived up to the Rhodes name? Lets continue with Dustin Runnels then.

Dustin Runnels aka Goldust to you and me never had it big time like his father, he was always riding in his coat tails and everyone instantly put the pressure on him from day one of his career to be like his father. Under the alias of Goldust in the WWF/WWE he was able to push himself away from shadow of his father and make his own fame. He may never have hit the big gold (pardon the pun) in the WWE and won the top championship/s but he sure as hell made himself a character and a name with the fans. So being Goldust he has slightly broke away from his father's shadow and gained a massive following that i will class as living up to the Rhodes name due to him finding his own fame.

Cody Rhodes is the next in line of the family but he may as well be above Dustin due to the breaking away from his brother, going back to his lineage and being the bad guy that his father is. He even bought Dusty into one of the storylines recently. Having this character of being dashing and now having to wear the mask is just great and i guess no one remembers the fact he is the son of "The American Dream". Cody shouldn't be far away from winning a top championship in the future because he is good on the mic, has the in ring skills and older guys are starting to retire.

Rhodes Legacy = 4 1/2 out of 5.

2: The DiBiase Family
And now we come to the DiBiase Family. Yes i can't find one of Ted, Ted and Michael/Mike (Ted Sr's. Father). This picture however includes Ted Sr, Ted Jr. and Brett DiBiase there also isn't Mike DiBiase (Ted Sr's. Son).

Michael DiBiase being from an era where there isn't much history to see of i can't speak of from decent knowledge but all i know of his is from his wikipedia. Michael DiBiase won plenty of championships and is one of few wrestlers to die during a wrestling match. During a match with Man Moutain Mike he suffered a heart attack and Harly Race noticing this attempted CPR on DiBiase and rode with him to the hospital. Michael DiBiase also adopted Ted Sr.

Ted DiBiase Sr. just like his father won plenty of championships around the United States and also acclaimed many awards from The Wrestling Observer. In 2010 he joined the WWE's Hall of Fame which is a prestigious award in itself right unless you are one of those wrestlers looking for some quick cash and plan on selling the hall of fame ring. Ted Sr. also introduced the WWE to the Million Dollar Championship.

Ted DiBiase Jr now well unlike his grandfather and father hasn't done much in wrestling. Right now he is on Smackdown and not doing anything. His former tag team partner, Cody Rhodes has done better than him in the WWE. Ted Jr. had a little feud with Goldust over his father's Million Dollar Championship and that went nowhere itself except back to Ted Sr. Right now WWE are dropping the ball on this kid, i believe they should help him with talking on the mic as well as giving him some more matches or send him back to development to gain more of a better reputation as a heel.

DiBiase Legacy = 2 out of 5. This is due to Ted Jr. not living up to the expectation of being a DiBiase.

Next time i will be talking about Mr. Perfect and Michael McGillicutty (Joe Hennig) as well as Mike Rotunda, Husky Harris/Windham Rotunda/Axl Mulligan and Bo Rotunda.

Raw in Review

I’m not American but it was nice to see that WWE had that Memorial Day vignette to start the show with. R-Truth actually kicked us off but we had technical difficulties so we couldn’t hear a word of what he said to us. After that we go to the main part of the arena where Cole and Lawler explain there are technical difficulties. R-Truth then begins to blast all of the Cena fans and then Cena interrupts for once. This little Jimmy is getting way out of hand even though it is kind of funny. Raw GM interrupts and Cole reads it. The GM books the main event to be R-Truth against John Cena (which is what we all want right?).

First match of the night is Kofi Kingston against Dolph Ziggler and it was very much a good match, what is up with Ziggler being blonde again, didn’t the black hair work good enough or is it because his brother is now signed he changed his hair back? The ever so present Vickie Guerrero was at ringside as expected when it comes to Dolph is she really helping hum much as a manager/valet with being at ringside? I don’t believe she is. Nice to see Ziggler hit the Fame-Ass-er. Not a big fan of the Zig Zag but it was the finish to the match.

I think when trying to watch it last night it got to Alberto Del Rio I couldn’t be bothered to watch the rest of Raw due to being tired. Nice to see Del Rio bringing up what happened previously with The Big Show and him being run over and having him say it was an accident is awesome. Funny he got Rodriguez to tell everyone what happened even though he speaks Spanish (yes I’m correct it isn’t Mexican they speak). Nice heel character from Del Rio and it was great how he said that Rodriguez will be sending the bill to Big Show for the damage he caused to his car.

I hope the rival isn’t fully renewed with Punk and Mysterio. Nice backstage segment with Kelly Kelly and Eve.

Bella Twins are already in the ring waiting for the match where they will be facing Eve and Kelly Kelly. After last week’s showing I’m expecting not much action before Kharma comes out and explains why she cried. Something messed up during the start of the match which caused Eve to lock in some submission move. I’m a bit pissed off that the match last week was shorter than this one, nice wardrobe malfunction and stinkface from Kelly Kelly.

Here comes Alex Riley’s apology but we start with Michael Cole in the ring who is the biggest Miz fan inside the WWE right now. So the Raw GM has signed Alex Riley even though he was on Smackdown which was still confusing as he appeared on Smackdown once. Alex Riley has a decent theme and a great titantron, thank god for Alex Riley who certainly weirdly be getting a push seeing as he is feuding with The Miz. Nice to see Alex Riley tells Michael Cole he is annoying but like the Miz? Alex Riley shouldn’t have touched Cole though as it meant the Miz was going to come out obviously. So we got a small re-run of last week as The Miz gets beat up by Riley again which means the future PPV match will see Riley lose sadly.

Punk Vs Rey Mysterio, I just hope CM Punk kicks his ass because Rey is getting boring to me. He is there just for the kids to gain the WWE the money. CM Punk is obviously the real fans wrestler as CM Punk came from the Indies and worked well to gain a top championship. Rey is still good and the suicide dive he did during the match was just epic. Nice to see CM Punk get the victory I just wish they didn’t do this feud over again just on a different brand, even if with this one we have Mason Ryan at ringside.

Oh god we have to hear Kharma speak, now a big monster like her should have a manager, yes she is cutting what seems a shoot style promo. Kind of like Sin Cara would have been better if she would have went to FCW because writing her off there would have been easier, but now her character is killed from being a beast character. Glad she explained she is pregnant. Are the Bella twins the new Lay-Cool seeing as they are just poking fun at Kharma (and it should happen that when she comes back she will destroy them). That was even greater she told The Bellas she wants them to be there for when she gets back but after she went silent I sadly had to laugh at that fan who shouted out that Kharma is going to eat them.

I so am getting annoyed that the keep showing this Capitol Punishment dream sequence, first time it was weirdly kind of funny but now it is getting very annoying.

Swagger vs Bourne are in a rematch from last week and weirdly picking up from last week we haven’t seen Drew McIntyre get used and Bret Hart isn’t on the show? Was my conspiracy right about when Bret Hart was there they would use Drew McIntyre because of the comments he made. Very much a great moment in the match was when Jack Swagger was doing push ups from Evan Bourne’s back. Not happy to see Bourne get the win even though he is talented, I guess I can expect a feud from these two guys.

More backstage moments with Truth talking to himself and then great to see Zack Ryder backstage with his internet championship as he bumped knuckles with Cena; R-Truth comes out to his own voice again. That one weird fan during the match shouting that Truth doesn’t have a t-shirt and Ryder does? What was the point in that seeing as Truth is talking about Cena? I’m glad Truth was always rolling out the ring every time Cena got some momentum it killed Cena’s buzz. Thank god for R-Truth he made Cena lose the match via countout. Quite obvious the father and two sons that Truth and Cena interacted with were plants or else Truth wouldn’t have thrown the drink over them.

I think Raw could have done a lot better this week and it gets a six & a half out of ten for how boring it is.

WWE's Loss was the Indies Gain!

Yes i'm talking about Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana. Now if you remember a time back in 2009 on Smackdown you might have seen the guy in the picture. He is Colt Cabana but on television we knew him as Scotty Goldman? What i hear you cry, why have the WWE gave such a charismatic wrestler (if i can say that when it relates to the WWE) such a poor name and not let him be himself. Well it brings me on to my next point he wasn't really used much by the WWE.
Goldman/Cabana had a few matches under his belt when on Smackdown but that was it a few matches if you don't believe me check youtube out or even his wikipedia. It explains Cabana wasn't being used in the correct way, right?

Yes of course i am right look at the picture. When Cabana returned to the independent scene his sure as hell must have got more bookings due to him being featured on television. The big problem the WWE had though was after those few defeats he just came to having his own show on WWE.com before he saw the good luck in your future endeavours card. Colt then returned to Ring Of Honor and many other indies. He has gone on to compete twice in the Chikara King of Trio's.

But the biggest thing he did since leaving the WWE was win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Now the NWA World Championship has changed a lot since the days of Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes and others but it still has that prestige about it. So Colt being the NWA World Champion added new prestige as he defeated long reigning "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce. Colt then lost the title to The Sheik but surly will look to regain the title that was once his. Will we ever see Colt back on the main stage? Maybe. Will Colt look to join TNA? Maybe. Has he got a future in Ring Of Honor as long as they are alive? Sure sounds like it.

I hope some day down the line Vince McMahon or whoever will be in charge of running the WWE ship can bring back Colt Cabana and will actually look for the real talent in professional wrestling instead of going for their mould of specifics and looks to be classed as a WWE wrestler.

Friday Night Smackdown on a Sunday?

So I kick off Sunday night Smackdown right now (yes it is Friday night Smackdown just I’m watching it on a Sunday) and from the start Randy Orton comes down to the ring. From the first word Randy was quite poor, I didn’t expect a slower promo from him and glad Christian interrupted. Christian was a bit better at bringing the pace up and then Sheamus interrupts after Christian has asked for another shot at the title. Sheamus then talks for a little bit makes a great comment to Christian saying he has to wait another 17 years if he wants the title again. Mark Henry interrupts and tells Christian to retire (well kind of). Basically it is kind of the start that happened before Christian lost his title, but this time Teddy Long makes a triple threat match for the main event where we will get a new number one contender. I like how Teddy said it is like déjà-vu with all of them being out there again. I hope they can stop calling Christian “The former world heavyweight champion”.

Chavo Vs Sin Cara is the first match of the night and I’m expecting there will be less botches, shame that happened last Sunday but I got to admit it was his first WWE pay per view. Again the thing with the lights happens which is starting to annoy me even more. Very much the better match than the pay per view and nice to see him hit the same move but better than what it was on the night of the ppv. Shame Chavo didn’t get the victory but yeah it is getting the fans in from Mexico to watch the WWE programming.

Cody Rhodes comes out next and is followed with his bag handlers. Daniel Bryan interrupts Cody Rhodes while his baggers are handing out the bags and he is cutting his little promo about how everyone in the local area is ugly. Very much a nice match there from Cody Rhodes and Daniel Bryan shame we saw Cody do the worse thing ever, instantly tap from a submission hold. Rhodes beat up Bryan hit the Cross Rhodes and then placed a bag on Bryan’s head.

Heath Slater faces Ezekiel Jackson in the next match (weird how there has been no backstage promo’s right now). This match didn’t have me interested any more longer than a minute, I kind of expected just even more right at the end when Jackson got Slater ready for the finish The Corre was going to run down to the ring, it’s a DQ and Jackson wins again.

First backstage promo of the night and Christian is explaining how everything in the past he was the last of and then was the best of and how it has came into the WWE.

Kane faced Khali (yet again i’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen this in the WWE). Khali was very dominant in the match until Kane turned it around and got the victory. Jinder Mahal then came down to the ring very much a repeat of the last show with him slapping Khali, he attacked Ranjin Singh and then as Khali stepped up to him Khali attacked Ranjin Singh.

I skipped the segment with Booker T and Michael Cole because when I read spoilers it sounds like a waste of time, which from skipping through it, it was. We then had a promo from Sheamus before the big match where Sheamus then tells everyone Christian needs to shut up about winning the title, and laughs about Mark Henry winning nothing since he has been there.

AJ and Kaitlyn are now in action against Alicia Fox and Tamina and Natalya is in the corner of the babyfaces. AJ and Kaitlyn were pretty decent from the start of the match and what a nice move from Alicia Fox to knock out Kaitlyn with the scissor kick. Small amount of time for the divas match which could have been longer if the Booker and Michael Cole segment wasn’t there.

Final backstage promo of the night is Mark Henry which was pretty poor. I would like to see him return to his silverback gimmick, very boring promo though.

In the main event Sheamus Vs Mark Henry Vs Christian it was more dominate and destroy Christian from both Sheamus and Mark Henry. Randy Orton came out during the match and he just went straight to the commentary table. Randy interfered to try and help Christian become the contender and when after arguing with the referee Christian turns into a brogue kick. Quite a decent match and what a time filler of a match, nice to see the no DQ rule come into play with it being a triple threat.

Very much a normal show to end the week with, expect better next week with Sheamus as the number one contender.
