Wrestling with History, Part 1:

Basically what i will be doing with this is discussing a vital issue that was raised on the Total Wrestling Show on Sunday. For more about them go to http://www.totalwrestlingshow.com/. But back on topic what was slightly discussed was the issue of do many generation superstars live up to the expectations we give them. This being there are guys like Dusty Rhodes who was a mega star back in his day and was always on the road, but has Dustin Runnels/Goldust and Cody Rhodes lived up to the name Rhodes in the wrestling industry, i'll look more in depth below.

1: The Rhodes Family
There they are in all their glory kind of. Kicking it off like i said Dusty Rhodes; now this guy is a legend he found fame all over the United States and even became NWA World Heavyweight Champion in the process. With championships came money and with money came the limo rides and private airplane journeys. So
have his son's, Dustin (Goldust) and Cody lived up to the Rhodes name? Lets continue with Dustin Runnels then.

Dustin Runnels aka Goldust to you and me never had it big time like his father, he was always riding in his coat tails and everyone instantly put the pressure on him from day one of his career to be like his father. Under the alias of Goldust in the WWF/WWE he was able to push himself away from shadow of his father and make his own fame. He may never have hit the big gold (pardon the pun) in the WWE and won the top championship/s but he sure as hell made himself a character and a name with the fans. So being Goldust he has slightly broke away from his father's shadow and gained a massive following that i will class as living up to the Rhodes name due to him finding his own fame.

Cody Rhodes is the next in line of the family but he may as well be above Dustin due to the breaking away from his brother, going back to his lineage and being the bad guy that his father is. He even bought Dusty into one of the storylines recently. Having this character of being dashing and now having to wear the mask is just great and i guess no one remembers the fact he is the son of "The American Dream". Cody shouldn't be far away from winning a top championship in the future because he is good on the mic, has the in ring skills and older guys are starting to retire.

Rhodes Legacy = 4 1/2 out of 5.

2: The DiBiase Family
And now we come to the DiBiase Family. Yes i can't find one of Ted, Ted and Michael/Mike (Ted Sr's. Father). This picture however includes Ted Sr, Ted Jr. and Brett DiBiase there also isn't Mike DiBiase (Ted Sr's. Son).

Michael DiBiase being from an era where there isn't much history to see of i can't speak of from decent knowledge but all i know of his is from his wikipedia. Michael DiBiase won plenty of championships and is one of few wrestlers to die during a wrestling match. During a match with Man Moutain Mike he suffered a heart attack and Harly Race noticing this attempted CPR on DiBiase and rode with him to the hospital. Michael DiBiase also adopted Ted Sr.

Ted DiBiase Sr. just like his father won plenty of championships around the United States and also acclaimed many awards from The Wrestling Observer. In 2010 he joined the WWE's Hall of Fame which is a prestigious award in itself right unless you are one of those wrestlers looking for some quick cash and plan on selling the hall of fame ring. Ted Sr. also introduced the WWE to the Million Dollar Championship.

Ted DiBiase Jr now well unlike his grandfather and father hasn't done much in wrestling. Right now he is on Smackdown and not doing anything. His former tag team partner, Cody Rhodes has done better than him in the WWE. Ted Jr. had a little feud with Goldust over his father's Million Dollar Championship and that went nowhere itself except back to Ted Sr. Right now WWE are dropping the ball on this kid, i believe they should help him with talking on the mic as well as giving him some more matches or send him back to development to gain more of a better reputation as a heel.

DiBiase Legacy = 2 out of 5. This is due to Ted Jr. not living up to the expectation of being a DiBiase.

Next time i will be talking about Mr. Perfect and Michael McGillicutty (Joe Hennig) as well as Mike Rotunda, Husky Harris/Windham Rotunda/Axl Mulligan and Bo Rotunda.
