Superstars and Smackdown!

Superstars and Smackdown

The instant rant about Superstars is the fact as Bret Hart said; talent like Drew McIntyre is being wasted on there. He lost to Chris Masters last week and this week beat Evan Bourne in the main event. Last time i saw McIntyre on Raw he was teamed with Swagger and they could make a credible team if they became full time. Right now it has been shown WWE has nothing for McIntyre which is where i'm bringing up the fact that Tag Team Champions could have a credible opponent rather than CM Punk and Mason Ryan of the New Nexus (of which name I have problems with... it is just Nexus with a new leader).

Hawkins and Ryder certainly look like they are reforming but having them lose to Santino and Kozlov on superstars in which Hawkins lost to the Cobra of Santino Marella just destroyed the bringing back of tag teams. Hawkins and Ryder are the only team I see starting off the revolution again of tag teams in WWE; but surly we all should know WWE don't like tag teams... hell they only have 1 set of championships, I remember when there was two.

The only good thing about this week’s Superstars and last weeks... how about the fact Tyson Kidd looks to be staying. Having a manager and certainly the writer for Smackdown, Michael P.S. Hayes then you know you aren't going anywhere just yet, but I could be wrong. Having him lose to Yoshi Tatsu? Good decision maybe as Yoshi is a good wrestler, but I believe if the revival of managers as well is to happen at least have a feud where two managers are involved, we all have heard Arn Anderson is supposedly becoming a manager soon.

Smackdown now and having dropped the ball already by having Christian lose his title realistically 2 days after winning it in the first place WWE have yet again dropped it by having him face Sheamus in the first match. Christian winning the match made me happy but still those two to open the show? Mark Henry’s attack and then having Randy come for the save was an obvious build for the main event of Mark Henry Vs Randy Orton.

Was there any point in the promo from the Bella twins… very bland, Todd Grisham yes a good backstage interviewer, which is all he is but the Bella’s? All I could tell about that promo for them is Brie has a title match and a match against Natalya, could have got Natalya to talk. Also having Natalya lose to Brie Bella was very disappointing.

Again another person who can’t cut a promo right now… Ezekiel Jackson, I’m glad that him and Wade Barrett are going to be facing each other for the Intercontinental Championship but why are the Tag Team Champions still involved with these guys if they are facing the New Nexus for the titles? Is it me or is Wade Barrett growing a moustache? The six man tag match was pretty decent and having Big Zeke defeat his former team in The Corre (yet another name I’m not happy about in WWE) was a good choice.

Now Christian that was how you do a promo, even if it was wrote for him Christian knows how to talk and connect with the fans. Obviously I can’t complain about the fact Daniel Bryan faced Chavo Guerrero and Guerrero are in a tiny feud with Sin Cara so far.

Good promo from Cody Rhodes, you see there is always some light in wrestling for the fans and a great promo cutter is one of them. Ted DiBiase Jr. not so much his character is still bland and needs working on. Ted’s win was credible but it was over a Smackdown jobber.

Jinder Mahal came out during The Great Khali’s match and slapped him while Khali was being counted out, surly the referee should have called for a DQ? I remember when that used to happen. Khali beating Uso was obvious there. Randy Orton cuts a promo which was another good thing from WWE for once in a blue moon. But yet again upset with the WWE on the fact someone slides into the ring and it is an auto disqualification or no contest. A good thing came out of that match, Christian’s angle of waiting to attack Henry and Sheamus and then the ending.

All in all just like everything in wrestling, there is always room for improvement. Tomorrow will be less of a rant because I will be paying tribute to “The Macho Man” Randy Savage who sadly passed away last night.

IMPACT Wrestling?

Well seeing as i'm from the UK we don't get TNA... I mean IMPACT Wrestling until Tuesday which is 5 days after the original air date. What is with that because when a PPV airs on the Sunday we will have to wait three days to see it. Anyway back on topic the first ever edition of the new, IMPACT Wrestling was good but not the best. If wrestling matters in TNA you don't instantly destroy your slogan by putting Eric Bischoff in a match.

I can see that TNA/IMPACT Wrestling right now is looking like they will be destroying the X-Division but maybe when Mick Foley comes back yet again as the network executive he will build the X-Division back up. Abyss now is currently the X-Division champion after defeating Kazarian (seeing as X-Division is about no limits)... but then Eric Bischoff went to say earlier in the show, Amazing Red will face Samoa Joe? Last time i checked Joe used to wrestle in the X-Division and was the main guy that was the no limits guy. But you have him squash Red to then build his Crimson feud?

Kurt Angle/Jeff Jarrett? So basically who ever wins the match at Slammiversary becomes the number one contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship? Sting is your current champion, Mr. Anderson is the current number one contender... does that mean Sting retains, Angle faces him... Angle wins the title? Give "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero a chance?

Bully Ray & Tommy Dreamer. Right now this little angle with them and AJ is getting boring. People are already complaining that Bully Ray was the wrong choice to join Immortal when it should have been someone like "The Pope" or someone they could build up.

Going off ranting now, Sting and Mr. Anderson's angle on TNA IMPACT Wrestling was quite great, can't wait to see this develop with no Rob Van Dam joining in. The knockouts are developing well. Eric Young's comedy character is great and hope he has a feud with Gunner over the title which ends his comedy gimmick.

Thanks for reading check back tomorrow for more ranting,
